Today, we read Macbeth up to Act One, Scene 6 (page 49 in the text). If you were not here and haven't taken the play out of the library yet, it is available on the Internet. Read up to this part and also study the terminology I handed out last week for a quiz tomorrow.

Today, you went to the library and took out the play Macbeth. If you were not here, do this before our class on Monday.

I also handed out a list of terms to know and instructed the students to study it for a quiz on Monday (if you were not here, check your portfolio before lunch and study the terms then - there is not that many.
In addition, you need to study the dramatis personae for the quiz on Monday (who the characters are). You can do this by conducting an Internet search.
I then did a brief overview of the plot of the play (which can also be found using the Internet).
Finally, I explained iambic pentameter. Do an Internet search on this as well.

Today, we discussed your last assignment (Pixar). I then introduced surrealist writing to the you. I then gave you a short story to read ("The Late Man"). You are to have it read actively for tomorrow.

Today, we discussed the short story and what is contained in it. I then had you watch the Pixar short "The Adventures of Andre & WallyB." You then had to answer questions that tie to a short story (as this is a visual of one). This one was discussed fully to ensure you understood the process.
We then watched "For the Birds". For this one, you had to answer the questions and hand them in.
Keep in mind that you have a major assignment (your own generated short story) due on November 23. You will need to work on this on your own (class time will only be given for editing, not idea development).
